Written by for on January 5, 2020.Nintendo's GameCube has seen many incredible games in its lifespan and plenty of hidden gems, too, so here are 5 cool games that you might not have heard of. Perhaps you'll see something that you'll want to add to your collection! I'm glad I can share my collection with fine folks like you Hello Kitty: Roller RescueThere haven't been many Hello Kitty video games that released in the west and Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue is probably the best one. Sure, its level of difficulty likely won't offer you a rewarding challenge but it's so wholesome and cute that it's difficult not to enjoy every second of the lighthearted gameplay.
You basically play as Hello Kitty as you try and master a stage-based campaign. As you progress, you'll unlock lots of cute items as well as companions from the Sanrio universe that help you in your adventure. The fact that everything is rendered in beautiful and colourful 3D visuals is a treat as being able to see Hello Kitty and her family and friends pop in the third dimension is quite a rare sight. Overall, if you're a fan of Sanrio then this is one game that you don't want to miss.
It may be easy but Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue sure is a ton of fun Egg Mania: Eggstreme MadnessThe GameCube has plenty of fantastic puzzle games such as Bust-A-Move 3000 and and one that I always go back to is Egg Mania: Eggstreme Madness. You essentially play as an egg while trying to build a tower as tall as you can by slamming down Tetris-like pieces. If you have gaps in your structure, your instability meter increases and if it gets too high, a lot of your hard work will crumble. Therefore, the key to victory is building as durably and quickly as possible. Once you reach the hot air balloon overhead, you win! It's such a simple and fun game that I wish they'd remake it for modern consoles and the wealth of power-ups make the gameplay remain exciting and feeling fresh.
There's a good variety of gameplay modes to challenge, too, such as multiplayer. Egg Mania: Eggstreme Madness is one of the most unique puzzlers that I've ever played Muppets Party CruiseSure, there's a whopping 4 awesome Mario Party games for GameCube so the console definitely isn't short on local multiplayer fun. However, Muppets Party Cruise is a solid party game that offers an impressive collection of fun mini-games as well as a clever take on the board game setup. You basically move your character of choice around a cruise ship while trying to earn as many party favours as you can. Whoever gets the most wins which is a lot like Mario Party's stars. That being said, the free-roaming boards provide lots of opportunities for strategy and most of the mini-games are very well done and unique.
Plus, being able to play as Fozzie is a big bonus in my book. Some of the mini-games in Muppets Party Cruise give Mario a run for his money Zapper: One Wicked CricketThere are a few highly underrated Frogger games for GameCube in the form of Frogger Beyond, Frogger's Adventures: The Rescue, and Frogger: Ancient Shadow.

For whatever reason, I absolutely love their gameplay where you can only hop 1 or 2 spaces and you have to gauge each move carefully so you don't fall off the stage. It's a supremely challenging and rewarding gameplay premise that I wish we'd see more of nowadays.
Anyway, Zapper: One Wicked Cricket essentially follows the same formula while featuring interesting electricity-based powers that make dealing with enemies and puzzles a rewarding endeavour. I remember trying to get all of the collectibles in the campaign but giving up because it was just too tough. If any game dev is reading this, please bring this formula back! Zapper learned everything he knows from Frogger Tube SliderLast but not least, here's a fun racing game. F-Zero GX may be the go-to racer on GameCube but if that's a little too fast for you then here's Tube Slider.
It plays a lot like yet most of its tracks are in fact tube-shaped which means that you can drive on whichever surface you wish. With that in mind, driving on certain surfaces will provide you with more speed and power-ups so it's a good idea to still drive carefully so you can speed past your competitors and claim victory. It may not be the most challenging or complicated racer ever but its solid gameplay is sure to provide some enjoyment for those who simply can't get enough futuristic racing. Tube Slider may be a Wipeout clone but it's a very fun one! That about does it for my first round-up of hidden gems for GameCube. Are there any that you'd recommend? Let's chat below!

Jackpackage11: The absolute best hidden gem on the Gamecube is Gotcha Force. Hella expensive now, but it's always been one of my favorites and it never gets mentioned enough. Also, both Bomberman games don't get enough love. They couldn't live up to Saturn Bomberman, which is still the tops when it comes to the series IMO, but the gamecube pair are both surprisingly good single player games.A.J.
Maciejewski (crazyaejay): I never actually played Gotcha Force but I'll add it to my want list. Thanks for the recommendation! I love the 2 Bomberman GameCube games!
I remember playing both of them while trying to unlock all of the items, charaboms, etc. Each level would take like half an hour, too. Such fun games.
